Relay for Life, a local organization that regularly holds all-night benefit events, has truly reinvented the way people raise money for a good cause! “Relay Rocks” is the pre-party to beat all pre-parties when it comes to raising funds for the Hilton Head Relay for Life event which will be held at the Island Rec Center on May fourth. For a flat fee, attendees of “Relay Rocks” events enjoy appetizers AND cocktails. “Relay Rocks” events occur somewhat frequently, and have raised as much as $800 dollars per night. The next “Relay Rocks” event takes place tomorrow evening, and will kick off at 5:30 at Applebee’s. Volunteer groups in Hilton Head continue to gather supplies which will leave for Alabama on a moving truck to provide much needed aid to people affected by the storms and tornadoes which recently tore through the South. Volunteers hoping to fill up a rented moving truck were happy to have achieved their goal; it is more than likely that a second moving truck will be needed to make the delivery to Alabama in one trip.
